My name is Lauren Sweitzer, PsyD and I am a Clinical Psychologist and Relationship Coach. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Harvard University and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University in New York. I have advanced training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples, Gottman method couples therapy, trauma treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic approaches.
As a Relationship Coach, my approach is grounded in attachment science. I help couples decrease distress and build secure, fulfilling relationships by fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and their partners. In session, I guide partners to explore each other’s behaviors, feelings, and needs, facilitating different conversations that improve connection. These new in-session experiences and skills allow couples to move from stuck or destructive patterns into positive cycles of communication. Ultimately, authentic and attuned responsiveness increases trust, intimacy, and safety.
I provide a warm, validating space for you and your partner to repair and strengthen your bond. I value the diversity of individuals’ identities and backgrounds and strives to cultivate a safe environment where each person feels heard. I believe that with the support of coaching, you will find the answers within yourself to increase connection in your relationship and navigate challenges with greater empathy and insight.
I apply these principles to my work with individuals as well. I support clients to understand and reshape their emotional world, leading to an enhanced sense of worth and confidence, secure connection with themselves and others, and decreased distress.
When not working, I enjoy exercising, traveling, making pasta, and spending time with family and friends, especially my identical twin sister, who is also a psychologist!
Please feel free to book a 15-minute call to ask me any questions about my approach or to see if I might be a good fit for your needs.
